Live Poultry Delivery
Will the Post Office deliver our chicks to us at our home?
We do not advise or recommend home delivery for baby chicks. Picking them up at the Post Office helps reduce the amount of time they spend in transit.
We recommend Post Office pickup
We do not advise nor recommend that your order is delivered directly to your home because this can cause the chicks to spend more time in transit.
Your birds should be placed in their brooder as soon as possible after arrival, so picking them up promptly at your local Post Office is best.
Pick Up Promptly
Chicks need to be placed in a warm brooder as soon as possible after they arrive.
Post Office Will Be Given Your Phone Number
We provide the US Post Office with the phone numbers you give us and instruct your Postmaster to call when your order arrives locally.
Less Time in Transit
Picking chicks up at the Post Office helps prevent additional delivery time on a mail truck.
What should I do before my chicks arrive?
You can call your local Post Office before the day you expect your chicks to arrive. This can help clear up any questions or concerns you may have about their live shipment pickup policies.
Make sure the phone numbers on your order are correct and that you are available to answer when the Post Office calls.
You should also have your brooder fully set up and warmed before your chicks arrive so they can be placed into a safe, warm environment right away.
Be ready to pick up your chicks
It is the customer’s responsibility to track the shipment and pick up the chicks promptly once they arrive at the Post Office.
